>> Okay it is 904 and we have a quorum so it's called to order the public utilities board for the city of Denton on Monday August 26th 2024. Nobody registered to speak okay. So let's go right into the consent agenda. Does any board member wish to prove to pull items A through B? Seeing none do we have motion to approve the consent agenda items A through C? In a second. Mr. Rybeck seconds. All in favor say aye. Aye. Approval of the minutes. Were there any changes or corrections? Devin and Billy first and second. All in favor say aye. Aye. Management reports. Tony. >> I had a question about the minutes. >> You did. I'm sorry. >> It's okay. It's not an important question. >> I should have said discussion. >> You did. You went right to the vote. It seems that looking at the minutes we did not have that closed session and discussed the document that was sent to us. Was there a reason for that? Will it come back at a later date? >> I wasn't there. >> There were no questions so we didn't know in your closed session. >> Okay. Very good. Thank you. >> All I saw was a note in the minutes that said no closed session. >> Okay. >> We had reviewed that item the meeting before as well so I think we felt that's why we had no questions. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> So Madam Chair, members of the PV, really no changes to the featured agenda items. I think that form is still blank. One of the biggest things that the board does is oversee the budget. That's pretty much completed. I think we have a couple of items that are still going to come back to you. I think there's a feedback here. Apologize. So we'll work with the finance department to get that back to you guys. And then we just have one item that's outstanding. We're working with the fleet department to get you the information on the EV vehicles. But with that, happy to answer any questions that you may have or if there's anything new that you'd like to add, certainly happy to work on that. >> I have a couple of items I would like to add. >> Go ahead. >> Okay. One of them has to do with the solid waste. We had a review of our neighborhood's garbage cans and I was curious about why that happened without prior notification of the prime reason for that taking place. >> And this was in Robeson? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I'm sure it occurred elsewhere. All I know is it did happen in our neighborhood. >> I'll make a note and follow up with Mr. Borner. >> Okay. The second thing is we got a notification also about planned maintenance and further restrictions on water. I'm curious why, if it is planned maintenance, it occurred at the absolute peak of demand in August. >> I don't see anybody from water here, but I'll get with the water department as well. >> Understood. I wasn't expecting an answer today. Thank you. >> Billy has? >> Yeah, and that reminded me of a thought I had earlier this week. Sorry about that thought. It was in reference to the we've gone to once a week and there was mention in a newspaper article and I think city didn't put something out, too, that said that they were going to start enforcement and nobody from water is here, however, that kind of is a big deal and it may be gone by the time, maybe here by the next PUB meeting, too. >> Yeah, as I understand from the same notice that you're referencing, there was some issues with some filtration or filters at the Lake Louisville water plant that hampered their ability to produce as much treated water as possible, so they were asking folks to lower their usage to avoid any additional conservation requirements. I think you're right. I think in the write-up, I think Stephen was clear that they're trying to get those resolved as quickly as possible. There is no shortage of water per se, but it's really our ability to treat water through that process and make that available to folks. Obviously if you're on a raw water type of irrigation, there might be different limitations, but it has gone to once a week. I will tell you, in my home, I had to reset my sprinklers as well for only Tuesday. My grass is hating it, but we're certainly all doing our part for it. I think that they were anticipating to get that resolved here in the next couple of weeks. As far as the enforcement, yeah, that was part of the language as well. I don't know how they're doing that. I don't know if they're having folks going around and monitoring. I would imagine so or if they're basing it on reporting, but certainly I think it comes with some pretty hefty penalties if you're watering on one of those dates that's designated for you. Yeah, that was my next follow up question, thank you. Any other items? And we'll go into concluding items. Does any board member wish to say something to the public or have something put on a future agenda? You already did that. Yeah. But that's okay. You can do it in either place. All right. Seeing none, you move for? Adjournment. Adjournment. Okay. We have item number 109, and we are adjourned. See? I was wrong. See? We could have done this without you.
